Overview
Introducing Banknote 2006
From 5 November to 8 November 2006, leaders in the
banknote community from industry and government gathered at the Capital
Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC to discuss and explore the emerging trends
and leading technologies in the banknote industry.
Founded specifically as a forum for this specialized community, Banknote
2006 was the fifth bi-annual conference on the banknote industry. We built
on the success of our past conferences with Banknote 2006 by hosting over
400 delegates from 60 different countries. Banknote 2006 also saw an increase
in the number of central banks, issuing authorities, and enforcement agencies
represented in our distinguished audience.
Banknote 2006 was unique in that it was a working conference with the
single goal of providing a venue for those organizations – both
government and industry – with an interest in the direction of banknote
usage in the coming decades. International speakers from manufacturers,
suppliers, governments and law enforcement agencies reviewed and discussed
all aspects of banknote design, production, issuance and usage. Delegates
participated in a dynamic and informed exchange of news, opinions, and
ideas between the leading professionals in a growing, rapidly changing
field.
Who attended? Senior executives, administrators and managers involved

and authentication of banknotes. They were employed in:
