Federal Tours

Banknote 2005 participants enjoyed memorable tours of U.S. government agencies key to the regulation, design and production and distribution and authentication of United States currency.

U.S. Federal Reserve Bank of Baltimore
Delegates visited a key part of the U.S. Federal Reserve System, which is the nation's central bank. The Banknote 2005 visit to the Baltimore Fed included a tour of the facility’s cash operations and informative presentations.

U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing
Delegates toured the BEP's Washington, DC security printing operation, which prints billions of U.S. banknotes each year. The Banknote 2005 tour of the BEP facility included a first-hand look at Federal Reserve Notes being printed, as well as engraving demonstrations.

Industry Exposition

Banknote 2003 featured an exposition hall, showcasing our sponsors – leaders in all aspects of the banknote and security printing industry. In addition, the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing also presented fascinating exhibits on recent trends in the counterfeiting of U.S. currency and the redemption of mutilated currency.
